We’re students at Miami University

Handrail is built by a team of four at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.

We started this after [the specific moment that started it — to be added]. What we found was consistent: hospitals buy good software and then hand it to people with a thirty-minute video and a phone number for a super-user who is usually busy.

We’re close to this problem in a way that helps. We are the people who learn new software constantly, and we know the difference between being told how something works and being shown at the moment you need it.

Building with Ohio hospitals, not for them

We’re two hours from most of the state’s health systems, and we’d rather spend an afternoon with a nurse educator than guess at what training looks like on a floor.

The team

Four of us: engineering, product and compliance, research, and partnerships. [Team backgrounds — to be added.]

Where we are

Handrail is in development. We’re looking for two or three Ohio hospitals to pilot with, and we’re being deliberate about security and patient data from the start rather than retrofitting it later.

We’re looking for two or three pilot hospitals

Handrail is in active development. We’re working with a small number of Ohio hospitals to shape it around how training actually happens on the floor. If that’s you, we’d like to talk.
